Had a meeting with the client team to discuss the requirements for the website redesign project. The following team members from Acme were present:

  • John Smith - Marketing Director

Key requirements discussed:

  1. Mobile Responsiveness: The redesigned website must be fully responsive and optimized for all device sizes. They've seen a 45% increase in mobile traffic over the past year.
  2. Modern Design: The current design is from 2020 and feels outdated. They want a clean, modern aesthetic that aligns with their updated brand guidelines (see Brand Guidelines Note).
  3. E-commerce Integration: They want to feature their new product line prominently on the homepage with direct links to their existing Shopify store.
  4. Improved User Journey: Current analytics show a high bounce rate on product pages. They want to improve navigation and user flow to increase conversions.
  5. Content Management: The marketing team needs an easier way to update content regularly. They're currently frustrated with the complex CMS workflow.

Performance is also a major concern. Their current site scores poorly on Google PageSpeed (around 60/100 on mobile). They specifically mentioned wanting to achieve at least 85+ on both mobile and desktop metrics.

Timeline expectations:

  • Initial designs by April 15
  • First prototype by May 10
  • Content migration beginning June 1
  • Launch by July 15 (in time for their summer promotion)

Budget has been approved for the full scope discussed. We should prepare a detailed project plan and assign resources accordingly.
